Wishlist and supplies

You can buy supplies directly for our workshops and free repair kits from our Amazon wishlist.  This is very helpful!!

And, we also accept any small tools, tool bags, bolts and sometimes wheelchair parts or other equipment. Especially needed: hex key sets, individual hex keys, allen wrenches, and socket sets! Contact us at admin@openassistivetech.org.

How we use your donations!

$100 to GOAT pays for 4 Workshop Fix-It-Kits for our event participants, or for 10 “Street Kits” that we hand out more casually to anyone we meet on the street who can use them.

a small pouch with fix it zine and tools, bolts added to a little tin that goes in that kit

Both kits contain a workbook for maintaining mobility gear like walkers, rollators, wheelchairs, scooters, and powerchairs. They also include small, useful tools; many kinds of fasteners like velcro wrap, heavy duty zip ties, mini rolls of gaffer tape, and an assortment of spare nuts & bolts. Each Workshop kit can be customized for the user. During our workshops, we also help people obtain service and parts manuals for their gear.

Donations also support our preservation work, as we catalogue, scan, archive, and add metadata to DIY assistive tech materials to share freely with the world! They pay for us to print our workbooks, zines, flyers and resource guides; they buy archival quality folders to hold the material that the Prelinger Library hosts in their collection.

They help support our time for collaboration work with the CIL’s Wheelhouse in Oakland, UC Berkeley’s RadMadLab, the ILRCSF, C.R.I.P.S.R.I.S.E., and University of Washington’s A11yhood projects, as well!
